We are a founding member of CHINA NOW and very proud to be taking part through sponsorship of the education programme as well as recently hosting a sustainability conference in our London office.
The education programme will provide grants for UK university student unions and Chinese societies to fund and organise China-related student festivals within their university and local community during CHINA NOW. The grant recipients will organise an exciting, colourful China-themed festival aimed to engage the wider university and the local community in a number of activities that celebrate modern China in the UK. The deadline for applications for our grants is Friday 29th February.
Our sustainability conference proved extremely successful. We invited a number of guests to examine with us the concept of sustainability from a UK and China perspective. We addressed climate change, explored conflicting views and looked at the future. We had a number of speakers including Lord Stern, a renowned economist and authority on the economics of climate change. The day ended with a performance from Chi2. Chinese British-born violinists/composers Liz Chi Yen and Sarah Chi Shang Liew dished up a charismatic blend of ‘East meets West’ rhythms and melodies.
