CHINA NOW’s education programme aims to encourage awareness and understanding of China’s fascinating heritage and contemporary culture. The programme is designed to provide opportunities for schools and universities to develop new or existing relationships with China.

For primary and secondary schools CHINA NOW aims to offer opportunities to forge relationships with Chinese schools through a range of programmes and competitions. CHINA NOW offers free materials for teachers, and has provided funding for Chinese arts and cultural events in schools, workshops (in everything from calligraphy to language), museum tie-ins and ideas for activities outside the classroom. CHINA NOW aims also to recognise the excellent work of schools and local authorities already working with China and has provided funding for them to organize their own China-related festivals during CHINA NOW.

CHINA NOW’s education programme for schools is supported by HSBC.

CHINA NOW’s tertiary education programme, supported by Norton Rose Group, will enable universities to obtain grants to fund and organise China related student festivals within their university and local community. Through the student festivals, the programme will provide students with the opportunity to celebrate the aspects of Chinese culture that they are most passionate about whilst simultaneously demystifying them for their fellow students and the local community. The university festivals will also feature lectures and business seminars about working in and conducting business with China.
