Cathay Pacific 2007 Business Awards

Cathay Pacific UK has announced HSBC and CHINA NOW as partners of the Cathay Pacific 2007 Business Awards scheme. Introduced in 2005, the awards recognise and reward UK business dynamism and achievement in Hong Kong and China. Cathay Pacific invites entries from UK enterprises trading in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and/or the People’s Republic of China.
HSBC is well known for its global banking connections and is currently expanding services and network in tandem with China’s economic development, by supporting customers’ needs in the this market. With one of the largest networks of any foreign bank in mainland China, HSBC is the ideal partner for companies involved in international trade.
HSBC commented, “We are excited to partner with Cathay Pacific on their Business Awards scheme. We are both committed to supporting UK companies operating in Hong Kong and China and to facilitating further business ties between the two countries. Our Group Chairman, Stephen Green, will be one of the members of the Awards’ advisory panel, and we are working with Cathay Pacific on confirming a number of further initiatives.”
CHINA NOW is the biggest celebration of Chinese culture ever to take place in the UK. In the first half of 2008, leading up to the Beijing Olympics, CHINA NOW will consist of over 800 high-profile events, performances and spectacles in cities all over the UK. Showcasing the best of art, design, cuisine and culture, science, business and technology, education and sport, CHINA NOW will captivate a wide audience and advance their knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture to a new level. The growing list of leaders expressing their support for CHINA NOW includes the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Madam Fu Ying, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
