The Tiger Festival is a unique event showing the latest Far Eastern Films as well as hosting live music event nights. The inaugural festival held in Brighton, June 2007, saw record attendance, with fantastic reviews and support by both film fans and critics. Festival highlights from 2007 included screening Feng Xiaogang’s ‘The Banquet’ and Zhang Yimou’s ‘Riding Alone For Thousands of Miles’.
In 2008 the film line-up is set to be equally impressive with films across all genres, including anime, art-house, epics to straight up kung fu. The Tiger Festival has been expanded to cover two cities, with screenings to be held at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, and the independent Picturehouse Brighton. The Tiger Festival aims to position itself as an international destination for Asian film-lovers and those in the industry, as well as to build this event into a regular feature on the international film festival circuit.
