The Silk String Quartet comprises:

Cheng Yu pipa and guqin

Sun Zhuo guzheng

Qiu Zenghui erhu and jinghu

Zhou Yinyan yangqin

They are the first and the only Chinese String Quartet in the UK and Europe. The group combines traditional and modern, Chinese and Western music in a fresh and creative way. The four virtuosi have all trained in China and the West, and performed within diverse music genres worldwide.   They performed to great acclaim at the WOMEX event in Seville 2006, and at WOMAD in 2007; their first CD was released in August 2007.
