Fairfax House is offering a series of connoisseur tours which explore how British artists, craftsmen and decorators used examples of Chinese Art to inspire their designs for porcelain, furniture, sliver and wallpaper.
Known as Chinoiserie decoration, the fashion reached its height at around the time Fairfax House was completed in 1762. Examples on display provide a useful overview of how these ideas were interpreted.
